The Dream

The wolf’s monkey business (when did the wolf morph into a monkey??) instantly reminded me of dream, a horrendous dream dreamt in the night of Jan 4 (the night of the beauty and the beast’s discussion on turning black and blue;-)). It was a savage dream, an animalistic dream, a sensual dream, a wild and w….okay not a wet one (thank god/ grace au dieu / debotar grash)…

So what was the dream about? Well, monkey business post reminding me of the dream and I am writing this post-monkey episode post….above all, whoz writing this post? The Shepherdess. So no booty for guessing it…I dreamt of a monkey! A Hanuman rather. A BIG Indian monkey!

The bestial dream is just a part of a long and weird dream (most of the time the shepherdess dreams of weirdoes instead of innocent ones like her sheep, her lambs- the symbols of naivety!) …back to the monkey dream. I dreamed of a gamut of handsome men, climbing on a big tree and working (god knows what their assignment comprised of on that tree….I am sure the beau-s weren’t Kalidasa, the great Sanskrit literary figure in ancient India who is best remembered for his masterpiece ‘ Abhijnanasakuntalam’ and his falling off a tree while cutting a branch sitting on the branch! (I still wonder how come an innocent, ignorant, idiot (sorry for the last word! It just flowed out of my heart adorned with the allurement for the adorable alliteration!) can transform into a gifted poet and dramatist! Wish I could attain that metamorphosis! Alas!

Anyways, back to monkey business. The extremely good looking men at work on the tree! And this vivacious voyeur watching them from the window of her house!! The tree was vis-à-vis the window! Should I thank the architecture of our house or the unknown person who planted the tree? All of a sudden I saw the gallant men all petrified! All flabbergasted! Their eyes were fixed to a particular point. The point, being beyond my window, was invisible to me. Soon I heard a voice scream. Don’t know whose voice it was! May be His, in the manifestation of a mortal, coming to rescue this poor, weak, no not old, shepherdess! The voice shouted- the monkey! As if a monkey was as powerful and mighty as a royal Bengal tiger!

The alarm made me try to shut the window in no time. But alas! This poor young heart could not accomplish the task properly. Just in the nick of time, the monkey appeared in front of the window and stopped me from shutting it!...guess what his next action was? I was dazzled by the ebullience of his sensational scintillating smile! He was gleefully flashing his wonderful sets of teeth!

The dream then turned to a different path quite irrelevant to the monkey episode. May be Freud could have solved the mystery of the ‘irrelevant’ part. We don’t have Freud ; but we have the wolf-- the would-be-Freud! Hearing the monkey-dream, our savage pet came to the conclusion that the monkey was actually a different creature- a homo sapient! Yes, yes, I agree the world is a weird place…in the unreal world the monkey wears a human-smile whereas in the real monde, the humans do the monkey face (reference: the wolf’s photo shoot)! Hold on hold on! He didn’t stop analyzing. He professed that the man in the manifestation of the monkey was actually the shepherdess’s dream-lover!!!!!

So friends, what could be analyzed from the wolf’s dream-study? Different persons will give birth to different analysis, but for me, it was sheer enviousness, enmity, hostility, jealousy!! The wolf is just jealous! Surprised?? Lemme explain. Remember, his words- “Looks of both mains sales and dirty mind are passable...[thank god...I hate competition]....????!!!!!....More explanations- his calling me ‘senile’, ‘aging prematurely’ and what not! O Heavens! The wolf is up against man as well as woman!!! He is up against humanity!!!

Now the big question is WHY???? –well, this shepherdess believes the wolf is an apt baptization for the anonymous. He is a wild animal at heart. His photo shoot episode was a sub-conscious reflection on that. And the savage beasts hate humans since the biblical period. So it’s natural that the wolf will only be vociferous against us, the humans!

God! I am reading too much into things. Am I turning into another Freud?! NO, NO, this shepherdess doesn’t desire to change her métier. So lemme terminate the wolf-analysis and say au-revoir. Jai Hanuman!
